VAG 2.0 Reporting Update

On 28 July 2021, BaFin announced changes to the reporting obligations for insurance companies and pension funds under the Insurance Supervision Act (VAG). From January 2022, supervised asset managers will have to meet the reporting requirements of VAG 2.0 for the first time.

New Aspects of VAG 2.0

  • Completely refactored VAG 2.0 reporting template and debtors list
  • New allocation categories for funds (Private Equity, Real Estate Funds)
  • New category of loans and bail-in instruments
  • New identifiers (LEI, alternative identifiers) for issuer in debtors list
  • More granular credit ratign allocation to be reported
  • Separate allocation sub-category for derivatives
