Annex IV is the supervisory reporting regime under Article 24 of the AIFM Directive. AIFMs regularly report information on each AIF they manage to their competent authority: principal markets and instruments, exposures, leverage, liquidity and risk profile. In addition, there is a report at AIFM level.
All registered and authorised EU AIFMs are required to report. Non-EU AIFMs are also required to report if they market AIFs in the EU under national private placement regimes (Art. 42 NPPR). At AIFM level, EU AIFMs include all AIFs they manage. For non-EU AIFMs, this covers all AIFs marketed in the Union.
Our software has numerous direct interfaces to supervisory authorities, for example BaFin, CSSF, FCA and several other authorities. We connect further NCAs on request.
Our software covers all common jurisdictions of the European Economic Area (EEA). We add further jurisdictions on request.
We need master data on the AIFM and AIFs, portfolio holdings, and information on investors, liquidity and leverage. The data can come from your existing sources, for example from your management company, depositary or fund accounting, or as Excel/CSV.
Our software automatically calculates the risk measures required for Annex IV from your portfolio and master data. These include, among others, leverage under the gross and commitment methods, market risk measures such as Net Equity Delta, Net DV01 and Net CS01, the liquidity profile of the portfolio and investors, and counterparty risk. The calculation follows the requirements of Delegated Regulation (EU) No 231/2013 and the ESMA guidelines and is documented transparently for every report.
We generate ESMA-compliant XML files in accordance with the applicable ESMA IT Technical Guidance. National specifics of the supervisory authorities are taken into account. You do not need any XML expertise of your own.
Every report undergoes automated plausibility and schema validations before submission. We present the results to you for approval. This ensures that the generated reports comply with the current specifications.
Yes. Once you have approved it, we submit the report directly to the competent supervisory authority. We use the respective official channels, such as CSSF eDesk, FCA RegData or FIDAC. Acknowledgements and feedback files from the regulator are also routed back through us and evaluated. You have full visibility of the status of every submission at all times. Alternatively, you can download the validated XML files and submit them yourself.
The frequency depends on assets under management and leverage: annually, half-yearly or quarterly. Reports are generally due 30 days after the end of the reporting period. For funds of funds, the deadline is 45 days. We determine the correct reporting frequency for each AIFM and AIF.
We cover the complete lifecycle: initial reports, amendments, nil reports in the absence of activity, and cancellations. This keeps your reporting history with the regulator consistent.
As a rule, clients can enter their scope independently and start reporting immediately after signing the contract.
We process your data in compliance with the GDPR in EU data centres. Processing complies with the DORA requirements for ICT service providers, which we also reflect contractually. Fenion is ISO/IEC 27001 certified.
Prices are based on the number of AIFs, the reporting frequency and the number of supervisory authorities. There are no open-ended implementation projects. You receive a transparent quote after a short initial call.
